James Ducker, FileMaker Developer and Managing Director at Decent Group

James-DuckerJames is a successful entrepreneur and set up his own software development business, Decent Group in 2007 having been in the computer industry for most of his professional career prior. Working towards becoming an accredited Prince2 practitioner, James has been helping his clients implement the right IT solutions during periods of growth, address their frustrations with existing systems, and aid them in reducing the time they need to spend on lengthy administrative duties. There are few issues that entrepreneurs and small businesses have faced, that James hasn’t consulted on.
One example of an area James feels passionately about is the importance of improving communications through all areas of an organisation. Technology can be a key enabler for doing this, especially during periods of hyper-growth. It might be cliché, but James believes the traditional ‘lone wolf’ entrepreneurial mindset now needs to transition into one of a collaborative team-player, who doesn’t mind embracing technology to further their career and ultimately their business.
James specialises in creating advanced database solutions for manufacturing environments with the FileMaker development platform, as well as this he also specialises in automated publishing and typesetting utilising InDesign scripting.
