It was the renowned Dr. Murad who once remarked that healthy skin is a reflection of overall wellness. This simple yet powerful declaration of basic principles lies at the heart of Lucia Magnani’s work. It is a fine golden thread running seamlessly through all nine of the skin cleansing, toning, smoothing and hydrating products in her now world famous range. Designed for mature skin, the range combines both skin energizing micro-quartz crystal technology and potent antioxidants with mineral rich earth elements including quartz crystal, which are ground into micro-particles and blended into the products.
During the course of two weeks we trialled Lucia Magnani’s Daily Firming Hydrator, Rejuvenating Night Cream and Purifying Energizing Cleanser. Here are our thoughts.
The Daily Firming Hydrator
This line smoothing cream contains hexapeptide-12, essential for maximum cell renewal as well as lentil extract, which is rich in B5 and excellent for reducing enlarged pores. The hydrator’s use of sage extract as a natural antibacterial combined well with seaweed extract to ensure our skin felt hydrated and rejuvenated throughout the day.
This has to be our favourite product in the range. It is a little known fact that, while your skin produces more sebum during daytime for lubrication and protection, sebum production is significantly decreased at night. This is the reason why your skin loses more moisture at night time. This loss is also compounded by the simple fact that you’re not usually drinking water at night. During sleep, the body can focus on renewal and repair, making skincare paramount, with different needs from daytime.
Using the Rejuvenating Night Cream just before bed left the skin feeling clean and rested while also providing the essential nutrients to help maximize the cells’ regeneration process.
Purifying Energizing Cleanser
This was a joy to use. While helping remove dirt and oil that is embedded on the skin, the Purifying Energizing Cleanser also did a wonderful job in removing excess make-up, as these oily substances cannot effectively be removed through washing alone. While ordinary soap has a general pH level of between 9 and 10, which can make your skin feel very clean, but is just way too harsh. It also removes all natural oils from your skin making the pH level too alkaline. The Purifying Energizing Cleanser has amuch lower pH level and, consequently, was gentler on the skin.
Borrowing heavily from nature and the earth while also employing proven scientific methods, the Lucia Magnani range sets a new standard that all other skincare products will be judged by.
Lucia Magnani’s work reminds us of a simple truth: if you focus on good skincare, you really won’t need a lot of make-up. Go buy.
